Dreams are wonderful. They keep us motivated. They keep us striving to reach milestones and goals. Dreams are unique and can be big or small. Do you have a dream? Do you have a desire for more?
My dream has always been to learn how to play the guitar. When I was younger, I never had the opportunity to take lessons, much less, own a guitar. It wasn't until I was in my 20's that I found a guitar (literally I found it in a dumpster!) and took lessons.
Guitar lessons were wonderful. I enjoyed them a lot, but found that I was only able go once a week for an hour because I just didn't have the money to invest. That was until I found an online program called Jamorama. For a low price, I was able to take lessons when I wanted, for as long as I wanted and there was more material I then could possibly digest.
So, the guitar. I was living in San Diego with a good buddy of mine and every day we would walk past a dumpster and into my apartment. (Yes, high society living!!) One day after work, I noticed the neck of a guitar case in the dumpster. Being the fearless young man I am, I jumped in, grabbed it and ran upstairs.
Once inside, I popped open the latches and sure enough, a near new Fender Starcaster was resting inside. It had a scratch on the face and was missing a string. Wow. I could hardly contain myself!
I ran the guitar down to a local music shop who helped me restring it and referred me to some local lessons. Long story short, I felt it was destiny that I had always wanted to play the guitar and somehow, one fell into my lap. My good friend played the drums so after a few months of lessons and practice we started a "band" and had some fun around the city.
With my online lessons, I have worked hard to learn the open and barre chords with a logical, step-by-step methodology that got me strumming my guitar in time and sounding great. I think if you're interested, you should try it too. Click my link below for the exact product I use. Along with the basics, you will learn things like, advanced chords and riffs, plus even a great tutorial on tuning your guitar.
There is so much to learn, from basic strumming to detailed videos that will help you in your path towards music.
Do you dream of playing the guitar also? I still play that guitar and several others that I own, but I will always remember playing my Fender (or trying to play...) on the beaches of San Diego under starry skies next to bonfires and surfers.
Make your dreams a reality too and reach for your goals.
Jake in Austin, Texas.
