It is recommended to replace the strings before, and install them correctly though it is not absolutely necessary.

Is the electric guitar has a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge or system, you lock it, to continue. Guitar Setup Step 1: Set the truss-rod

Note: If, in cases where access to the truss rod just below the last threshold, instead of a nut, invert directions.

General concept is that drivers should be the same depth, regardless of the reception signal or sequence of characters.
Test to determine if the strings buzz and adjust as needed. Removing noise threshold is not entirely likely nor necessary. Set so that the electric guitar is comfortable to play, and can not be heard through the amplifier buzz.
Guitar Setup Step Three: Setting the intonation
Tune guitar with digital tuner, using the natural harmonics at the 12th fret. When you press the string at the 12th fret, you will have a similar pitch.
If the tuner says that too flat, and then reduce the vibration of the string, adjusting the saddle. If it is too sharp, elongated of vibration.
After the lengthening and shortening, tune in to a pure harmonic, and then repeat until you get this way, how you want.
However, if the system has a guitar whammy bridge or Floyd Rose tremolo system, the spring back, and tighten it slowly until it selects to clothing or coins. Put back the plastic covering in its place, and you're ready!
